History of the hotel
The land where Summergrove Halls is located once belonged to an impressive Georgian home. With records going back as far as the mid 18th century, the house was widely considered to be the best Georgian residence in the country. After a fire unfortunately saw the original building fall into disrepair, it was eventually demolished.
There are still, however, parts of this history found throughout Summergrove. Most prominently, the hotel’s sandstone entrance gates remain from the original manor house. Summergrove Halls has also been named in homage to the original residence.
The hotel has been operating since the 1980s, originally functioning as a short and long term accommodation for British Nuclear Fuels graduates and professionals. Since this time, Summergrove has become a popular hotel for tourists that are drawn to the region as well as those working nearby.
