History of the hotel
The land where Summergrove Halls is located once belonged to an impressive Georgian home. With its records dating back as far as the mid 18th century, the residence was widely considered to be one of the most impressive in the country. After a fire unfortunately saw the original building fall into disrepair, it was eventually demolished.
Despite this, however, there are still some reminders of the site’s history at Summergrove. Most prominently, the hotel’s sandstone entrance gates remain from the original manor house. Summergrove Halls has also been named in homage to the original residence.
Established as a hotel in the 1980s, Summergrove originally functioned as a place for short and long term accommodation for British Nuclear Fuels graduates and professionals. Since this time, Summergrove has become a popular hotel for tourists that are drawn to the region as well as those working nearby.
