Run the Edge – March 20 and 21, 2021
An opportunity for participants to come and recce the route this Autumn and stay with us in March 2021.
A BRAND new outdoor event will be held on Copeland’s coastline next year, as part of the Connecting Cumbria’s Hidden Coast programme.
Run the Edge will take place between Millom and Whitehaven and is expected to welcome more than 800 competitors.
Organised by Copeland Borough Council and funded by Sellafield Ltd and the Government, the endurance challenge offers a 10km run, a marathon and a 65km ultra-marathon – as well as the option to walk the route over one or two days. The event will take in much of Copeland’s picturesque coastline, with event hubs in Millom and Whitehaven, and an event village in Ravenglass.
All the routes follow the English Coastal Path, passing dunes, beaches, cliffs and even some bird species at reserves along the way.
